Pellet boiler systems

Pellet boilers

enlarged view of pelletsPellet boilers are the cleanest and greenest form of wood burning. The pellets give off very low emissions, produce extremely low amounts of ash and you get a lot of energy from pellets compared to other forms of wood burning! It also only takes less than 5% of each pellet in energy to make them.

Pellet boilers burn waste wood (usually sawdust) which has been compacted into small 'wood pellets'. The boiler feeds the pellets into it's burner automatically and can regulate how many it feeds in, so that the heat output can be varied. The pellets are all the same size and rounded at the ends so that they can be fed through inside the boiler automatically.

There are various ways the pellets can be stored. Storage can be in the actual boiler itself or in a larger container joined to the boiler, or they can be stored in large pellet storage rooms or containers.
