Rising electricity costs
A PV system will enable you to make savings on your electricity bills. You will even get paid by electricity suppliers for
electricity you produce and receive a higher rate for electricity that you produce while you are out or at work.
Photovoltaic will act as a safeguard against high costs of electricity and costs of electricity rising in the near
future. Gas and oil prices are also on the rapid
increase which will directly affect electricity prices. With a PV system you will be generating
some of your own electricity from the sun, so when you have a system, you will save more money year after year.
At present the production of electricity relies on natural gas, oil,
coal and nuclear. Nuclear is the only fuel currently always available, but at present there are huge safety implications
because it cannot be disposed of. Coal is (currently) a very dirty and polluting fuel for making electricity, and it is
also very inefficient. Concerns over whether many of these fossil fuels (Coal, Gas, Oil) will be as readily available as they
are now are growing, so by installing PV you ensure you fix the price of most of your electricity supply. And of course it is totally clean!
Solar, wind farms and other alternative methods are just a small part of the production of electricity at this time.
Of course, all individual PV installations will help offset the above problems.
If more people sign up to 'green tariffs' for the supply of their electricity, then more companies will have to buy and sell electricity
produced from renewable sources. Your PV system would count as one of those sources of electricity that can be bought
by electricity suppliers
